Living Bravely

“It is courage, courage, courage, that raises the blood of life to crimson splendor. Live bravely and present a brave front to adversity.” – Rear Adm. Gersia Bormallin, Cadet Graduation Speech, Amarr Prime

As the fighting rages in Beke, it is with great amusement that I see our enemy commenting here how unfortunate tactics have left them with concerned hearts. While the OEC (and any true professional military corporation) has taken its losses as part of the job…and continues pursuing it’s contract target, that target seems to just want to banter and throw bravado to any that will listen. Amusing, but in the end does not change any outcome militarily.

As most people know of myself, I strictly forbid the tradition of “trash talk” in local communication channels and elsewhere within my ranks. While the targets of our contracts banter…we pursue. While they give insult…we pursue. And in the end, they will eventually get the point that our will and mission cannot be broken. However, the “trash talk” is highly amusing for sure.

This is not to say I will not give credit where it is due to my adversaries, probably a character flaw of mine that no one else shares. CVTEC has had an excellent 48 hours against us, and we are moving in more logistics to deal with a ramp up of activity. We have also ran into our share of CONCORD noted firmware bugs in our ship systems…particularly cloaking and an effect known as CTD. We have isolated a workaround for the corporation using CPU affinity set to 1 processor instead of 2. We hope this will fix some of our operational issues.

Our client seems to be satisfied with our progress so far. This contract is getting lengthy however, so I foresee a termination on the horizon. It has been a great contract thus far however…as courage is always levied by experience.
